This position will perform a wide variety of administrative and operational duties in support of Physical and Program Security requirements in a complex, high performance environment supporting multiple IC and DoD customers.

Duties will include:

  • Alarm accounts/testing, maintaining door and safe combinations, facility keys, document control, processing visit requests, coordinating logistics for classified meetings and conferences, maintaining calendars/schedules of events, providing initial security briefings, debriefings, foreign travel, and related security education training.
  • Serve as primary contact for guard personnel and visitor control processes.
  • Conduct SCIF self-inspections and random searches, investigate security violations and submit reports, prepare and maintain SCIF documentation as required.

This position requires the candidate to have intimate knowledge of NISPOM, ICDs, and DoD Manuals to ensure that security policy and procedures are consistent with applicable security regulations. Serves as alternate COMSEC custodian. Work must be consistently planned and prioritized to support the Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO), and the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) in a high tempo environment. Must be able to respond to alarms and emergencies during and after normal business hours as needed.

Core hours are M-F; 8 am – 5 pm / Must have flexibility to provide after-hours support in event of emergency

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience

  • Ability to multi-task, pay close attention to detail, and work in a high tempo environment.
  • Possess excellent organizational and file management skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to professionally interact with customers, colleagues and advise personnel at all levels while fostering positive business relationships.
  • Ability to use computer software applications including, but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, security databases and email.
  • Willingness and desire to support all security disciples in the organization as a team member.
  • Knowledge of the NISPOM, ICDs, and Intelligence Community procedures and processes.
  • Available to respond to alarms and emergencies after hours.

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Experience as AFSO/ACSSO/APSO
  • ISSO/CSSO/FSO experience or certification
  • COMSEC Custodian Certification
  • Professional Security Certification such as ISP or SPeD
